A mid 20th century beautiful rural impressionist work by renowned artist Philip Naviasky (1894-1983), signed to the lower right. Measurements to follow. Naviasky was an English artist who resided in Leeds, he was renowned for his skills in painting landscapes and portraits using various mediums such as oils, watercolors, and pastels. Born in Leeds to Polish-Jewish parents, he displayed early artistic talent and earned a scholarship to the Leeds School of Fine Arts in 1907.In 1912, Naviasky achieved a significant milestone by becoming the youngest student ever admitted to the Royal Academy school. His exceptional abilities led him to receive a prestigious Royal Exhibition award and pursue further studies at the Royal College of Art. Despite these accomplishments, Naviasky chose to dedicate his career to Leeds, where he worked as both an artist and an art instructor at Leeds College of Art.His artworks were showcased in prominent exhibitions, including the Royal Academy, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and the Royal Scottish Academy in Glasgow. Additionally, he participated in numerous exhibitions across Yorkshire, with one notable example being the Yorkshire Art Exhibition in 1925.
