A Sunderland lustre ships plaque of Euryalus, a classic example of Moore's 1860s pottery.

HMS Euryalus, a wooden screw frigate launched in 1853, played key roles in Japanese incidents in the 1860s. Serving as Admiral Sir Augustus Kuper's flagship during notable bombardments, she was armed with 35 guns. After active duty, Euryalus was decommissioned in 1865.

Associated plaques, particularly an untitled transfer with the ship's name and pink-lustre plaques, are traced to Moore's Wear Pottery from the mid-1850s.

It measures approximately 23.5cm by 20.5cm.

No chips, hairlines, or cracks, but it does display expected crazing and discoloration due to its age.

Sunderland Lustre has a fascinating history tied to the maritime heritage of the Sunderland region. These plaques are known for their simplicity and charm.
